Loralie Grigas, MSW, LCSW, LCAS has worked and lived in the Wilmington area for more than 14 years. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), Loralie understands the unique challenges an individual faces when they have a co-occurring mental health and substance use issue. Offering both mental health therapy and addiction treatment, Loralie's addition to CBC will help expand the services we offer. Loralie offers outpatient therapeutic services and has a particular interest in women's issues, geriatric mental health, Co-dependency, and dual diagnosis treatment.
Loralie worked for many years as a mental health advocate in the Wilmington area. During her time as an advocate she witnessed the North Carolina mental health system "reform" from inception to its current state. She has a unique understanding of our current mental health system and the resources available in the local community.
In 2008, Loralie graduated from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington with her Masters in Social Work. Loralie began her clinical work as a therapist on an Assertive Community Treatment Team. Loralie was then invited to be the founding employee with Physician Alliance for Mental Health which opened its door in February of 2009. She started the agencies Assertive Community Treatment Team in the summer of the same years. In 2010, Loralie started the agency's Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) Intensive Outpatient Program. This program is specifically designed to offer intensive treatment for folks with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use issues. Finally in the fall of 2011, Loralie joined Carolina Beach Counseling offering therapy and dual diagnosis outpatient services to folks in southern New Hanover County.
